WASH Project Assistant

Shafak was officially established in 10-10-2013 (registration no. 27-016-129). It was founded during the early months of the Syrian Crisis in 2011. At its core, Shafak is a grassroots NGO that was formed by Syrians for Syrians, with the intent of addressing the needs of their life with dignity, equality and humanity with a focus on sustainability and autonomy.

Shafak is an impartial, independent, non-profit NGO that exists for the express purpose of providing humanitarian services to vulnerable people regardless of political or religious affiliations and on the long run to contribute to recover and rebuilding the society on freedom, justice and equality basis.

Role Purpose

The WASH Project Assistant provides the essential support for the WASH project manager to ensure the coordination with all departments and provide support for the field staff and provide the daily follow up.

 

Reports to; WASH project manager;

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow up the project work plan and ensure daily update with the field staff;
  • Collecting the daily update on the project progress and share the information with the field staff;
  • Preparing the Procurement Request(PRs) and follow up the logistics process to ensure delivering the items/service according to the requirement;
  • Participation in the need assessment the related to WASH project;
  • Ensure the coordination with all supporting department during the implementation;
  • Review and auditing the requested items from the field;
  • Prepare and review the Bill of Quantities (BoQs) and Technical conditions guidelines.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the WASH proposals;
  • Preparing weekly and monthly update reports.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Good English skills (writing and speaking)
  • Good reporting skills.
  • Experience or good knowledge about WASH projects.
  • Good knowledge in using Microsoft programs and AutoCAD.
  • Turkish Citizenship.
