Accountabilities

• Provide language interpretation in refugee interviews, individual and group psychoteraphy sessions, awareness raising sessions and informative meetings, trainings, and other settings, when necessary.
• Translate documents such as ID cards, medical reports, etc.
• Guide refugees within the building or to offsite locations for internal and/or external referrals.
• Do administrative tasks such as phone calls and photocopying of refugee documents as needed.
• Provide language interpretation for staff trainings.
• Translate from Turkish/English to Arabic, from Arabic to Turkish/English for all feedback on reports and other deliverables and any templates.
• Provide oral translation to program staff during sessions, meetings, workshops during referral.
• Summarize Arabic documents in Turkish/English and present findings to management.

Requirements

• At least Bachelor’s Degree.
• Advanced level of Turkish and Arabic, fluency in English is an asset.
• Minimum 1 year experience in working with vulnerable groups (refugees, children, vulnerable women, LGBTI individuals, elderly, individuals with mental health issues, etc.).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a relevant field (MHPSS, psychosocial support)
• Experience in field work with NGOs
• Experience of cross-cultural work
• Ability to be flexible, work in a fluid context and adaptation for unexpected situations
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with others
• Communication skills: negotiating, facilitating, and presenting as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
• Time management, organization, and work prioritization
• Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Contract Period: 19.08.2024 - 30.11.2024
