 Position

The Training and Mentorship Coordinator is a results-driven professional with excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and entrepreneurial skills. The T&M Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that Building Markets is generating value for its network of local Turkish, Syrian and refugee-owned businesses and providing high-quality mentorship services to them. 

The position will support the Training Manager in designing and implementing training and mentorship services, recruiting and cultivating trainers/ mentors, developing and maintaining strong mentee-mentor relationships, and monitoring and measuring outcomes. The T&M Coordinator has a broad and deep understanding of local market dynamics to ensure Building Markets’ network has access to relevant networks and opportunities. 

The T&M Coordinator will organize Building Markets' mentorship services, coordinating with relevant staff members whose work feeds directly into plans that improve the enhancement of the relations built between mentors, local Turkish, Syrian and refugee-owned businesses, as well as the broader business ecosystem.


Responsibilities and Duties

Planning

  • Build work plans, operations and documentation for bringing Turkish and regional individuals to help mentor business owners in different markets and broaden the skills-based relevance map that can offer opportunities to Turkish, refugee, and Syrian business-owners.

Mentorship Development

  • Organize and operate the mentor development and engagement plans for each target sector;
  • Build and enhance documentation and planning guidelines for mentor engagement efforts;
  • Coordinate the expansion of the mentor network from primary markets to a broader range of expertise;
  • Assist in the execution of activities that build trust and engagement between local Turkish, Syrian, and refugee-led businesses and mentors.

 

Coordinate Training Services

  • Support planning and  organization of training sessions
  • Consistently monitor online training platform to ensure consistency in user experience and address administrator-level bugs;
  • Coordinate with trainees to deliver mentorship services;
  • Assist the Training Department with other related tasks as required.

 

Enhance Learners Outcomes

  • Support Training Manager with refining and enhancing training materials and content made available by Building Markets, including engaging with a digital tools provider to build, update, and maintain content;
  • Collect user and technical feedback on training materials and iterate as required to increase user interactions;
  • Coordinate outreach and engagement across Building Markets' services, to engage a broader online audience.

 

Enhance User Engagement

  • Ensure Building Markets is creating value for businesses in its network by monitoring training and mentorship related quantitative user engagement statistics with relevant staff and identify areas requiring further attention;
  • Gather feedback to understand obstacles to user experience and deepen user engagement;
  • Monitor and track training outreach to analyze successful engagement methods; and
  • Support Training Manager in rapidly prototyping methods to encourage trainee engagement and accelerate certifications

 

 

Tracking and Reporting

  • In collaboration with relevant monitoring and evaluation tasked personnel,  build systems to track results and impact;
  • Support data collection, follow-up with mentors and entrepreneurs, ensure accuracy and effectiveness of data management;
  • Gather, verify, and compile monthly quantitative and qualitative reporting from staff whose work feeds directly into strategies that improve engagement, understanding, and products targeting businesses and their prospective clients;
  • Catalogue results and success stories and ensure that they are provided to the communications team in a timely manner. 
  • Assist the training manager with other related tasks as required.

 

Reporting Lines

Reports to: Training Manager

Required Qualifications 

  • Degree in Business Administration, related field or substantial equivalent in professional experience;
  • Proven familiarity with Turkish market and SME development needs;
  • Strong organizational skills and track-record of bringing people together for training or mentorship programs or events;
  • Motivated self-starter, capable of leading initiatives from inception to results;
  • Strong analytical and writing skills;
  • Experience leading initiatives in the region with a private sector focus;
  • Fluency in Arabic or English (written and spoken)
  • Fluency in Turkish (written spoken);
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Desired Qualifications

  • Regional experience and professional network; 
  • Familiarity with mentorship, startup and business ecosystem in Turkey and the Middle East;
  • Experience working with civil society and/or educational institutions in Turkey or similar context.

Travel

  • Possible travel within Turkey
