Amal Healing & Advocacy Center (AHAC) seeks to create a safe society where women enjoy their full rights without discrimination or violence.
AHAC is a women-led organization that empowers women who have experienced psychological symptoms resulting from social and sexual violence within their family or community.
We also seek to achieve equality and prevent violence against women, whether within the family or society.
The center was established voluntarily in 2014 and obtained legal registration in 2017 in the Turkish city of Antakya, which is located near the Syrian-Turkish border. Antakya hosts a large number of Syrian refugees, families, and communities.
The center seeks to respond specifically to the needs of refugee women and survivors of violence in particular.
