Position: Sexual Reproductive Health and Primary Health Care Officer

Job Location: Gaziantep
Reporting to: Senior Health Adviser Manager

Working area: Gaziantep, Turkey

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key relationships: Advisory Dept. team and other officers of Turkey Office Departments.

General objective of the position:

Sexual Reproductive Health and Primary Health Care Officer (SRH&PHC Officer) Works with the advisory department colleagues to ensure that the team provides effective, efficient and relevant technical inputs, recommendations and needed support. Will be responsible for developing the quality of RH & PHC programs/projects and ensuring the implementation of standards and evidence based guidelines and protocols. Also will represent SAMS in SRH & PHC TWGs and all relevant meetings.

 Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Active participation in developing SAMS’ quality assurance guidelines, testing methodologies and supporting tools in the relevant scope.
  • Review requirements to provide feedback on completeness, testability and risk areas that could affect service quality.
  • Work closely with projects and other departments to ensure the technical compliance between the programs/projects and adopted standards.
  • Ensure RH/PHC service recipients and career feedback are collected and used to drive quality improvements for service providers.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with RH/PHC services providers in SAMS facilities including reviewing the quality of services delivered and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in writing of proposals (NA, LF, HR ...) from relevant technical aspects.
  • Collaborate with IM department in obtaining requested statistical data, arrange, organize them in standard forms and analyze them to enhance the quality of services.
  • Coordinate with projects/training officer regarding the continuous capacity building of the medical staff by assessing the training technical needs, developing/providing required relevant materials, providing the relevant trainings (if technically appropriate) implementing technical spot checks as possible and give the feedback and recommendations.
  • Developing/designing the relevant TORs which could be related to a technical working group, a workshop, a training, or a specific job description, based on his/her professional experiences and academic backgrounds.
  • Provide the needed technical support to RH/PHC field supervisors and other related staff in Syria office.
  • Providing technical support for the project team during the RH/PHC projects LC
  • Technical monitoring of medical service quality through checks on equipment, consumables, medicines, brochures and health messages related to the scope.
  • Representing SAMS in SRH/PHC TWGs and all related meetings.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required

  • M.D. diploma, preferred to be specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in advising over SRH and PHC in humanitarian contexts.
  • Well previous knowledge of the Syrian context.
  • Proven ability to think technically, to analyze complex information and offer creative, practical and high-impact solutions
  • ability to distil large amounts of information for a variety of internal and external audiences
  • An ability to work flexibly in a team,
  • adjust work plan and priorities rapidly in response to external opportunities.

Languages

  • Fluency written and spoken in Arabic
  • Fluency written and spoken in English

CONTRACT CONDITIONS

The salary will be defined regarding the SAMS Turkey Office salary scale on-going.
