Shafak was officially established in 10-10-2013 (registration no. 27-016-129). It was founded during the early months of the Syrian Crisis in 2011. At its core, Shafak is a grassroots NGO that was formed by Syrians for Syrians, with the intent of addressing the needs of their life with dignity, equality and humanity with a focus on sustainability and autonomy.

Shafak is an impartial, independent, non-profit NGO that exists for the express purpose of providing humanitarian services to vulnerable people regardless of political or religious affiliations and on the long run to contribute to recover and rebuilding the society on freedom, justice and equality basis.

Role Purpose

The project assistant will provide day-to day support to the FSL project Manager related to the operations under the FSL project that is being implemented inside Syria.

Location:

HQ/Gaziantep

Reports to; FSL Project Manager

Key areas of accountability and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring an effective coordination among supportive departments (logistic, finance, HR, MEAL and safety & security).
  • Following up the administrative issues related to project implementation including but not limited to archiving, preparing and following up purchase requests and payments with finance and procurement departments.
  • Communication with the field team to ensure commitment to the work plans and keep tracking the numbers of distributed items.
  • Working with PM on preparing the stock releases and ensuring well-documentation of related activities/operations.
  • Assisting the PM in collecting the needed information, if any, for reporting and proposal writing purposes.
  • Performing any other tasks upon request.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • University degree in social or administrative sciences or any other related field.
  • Familiarity with projects implementation, monitoring the progress of WPs and closure of projects.
  • Familiar with project management, having PMD pro is an advantage.
  • Excellent time management, follow-up, problems solving and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, outlook, etc.).
  • Good organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with full attention to details.
  • excellent spoken & written Arabic and English.
  • Turkish nationality is preferred.
