General Functions:

Under the direct supervision of the MPA Programme Officer and overall supervision of the MPA Programme Manager in Ankara, Turkey, the incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the MPA activities of the mission.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide return counseling services and information on Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) to migrants in Turkey.
  2. Assist in the organization and facilitation of journeys home in co-operation with relevant Turkish governmental authorities (Provincial Directorates of Ministry of Interior Directorate General of Migration Management), while giving special support to vulnerable migrants.
  3. Support the coordination with IOM missions in countries of origin to organize provision of reception and other post-arrival assistance to voluntary returnees.
  4. Provide administrative support to the MPA Division’s liaison activities.
  5. Provide administrative support to the organization of meetings and events, including preparation of meeting minutes.
  6. Word process, format and collate tables, reports, presentation and other documentation for public information activities, including for social media.
  7. Assist the MPA team in provision of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) assistance to vulnerable migrants identified in Turkey, including conducting interviews.
  8. In coordination with IOM missions in countries of origin, support follow-up monitoring of the effectiveness and sustainability of reintegration assistance provided to returnees from Turkey.
  9. Complete all relevant documentation for AVRR cases in line with IOM standards and procedures, and record data in IOM’s database (MIMOSA) timely and accurately. 
  10. Support the production of statistical reports based on MPA activities in Turkey. 
  11. Perform general administrative duties.
  12. Undertake duty travel within Turkey as well as abroad as required.
  13. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education and Experience:

a)Having bachelor’s degree in a relevant field,

b)3 years of experience in relevant field,

c)Willingness and ability to travel,

d)Good familiarity with diplomatic environment

e)Proven analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills

f)Good level of computer literacy.

g)Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national / international institutions

h)Experience working in the region an advantage.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Russian, Turkish and English is required.
