General Functions: 

 Under the supervision of Migration Health Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for providing translation services and have the following tasks:

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Russian – English/ Russian – Turkish Interpretation Services while providing medical services (health assessment) for immigrants/refugees that residing or departing from Turkey.
  2. Maintain a high level of neutrality when performing interpretation work and avoid providing his/her personal inputs or ideas when delivering messages between the interviewer and the refugee applicant.
  3. Provide general clerical support to MHAC staff, conduct telephonic communications if needed as a part of the routine follow up being requested from MHAC different departments to enhance internal workflow under data processing, history taking, etc.
  4. Provide ad hoc support for written translations as would be required.
  5. Assist at the entry point for refugees arriving at MHAC.
  6. Provide general information and answers to basic queries on the resettlement procedures to the refugees as would be instructed by IOM.
  7. Contribute to reporting activities and statistics as would be requested.
  8. Perform other duties as may be assigned

 

   Required Qualifications:

   Languages:

  • Fluency in Russian and English or Russian and Turkish is required.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, and security clearances.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
