About SENED

 

Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with No.27-15-175; It arose in response to the suffering of Syrian refugees in Turkey & internally displaced persons in Syria as a result of the war waged by the Syrian regime on its own people and torn apart the entire country. Sened works through the humanitarian work sectors to empower persons with disabilities, their families and communities, advocate for their issues and include their voice in their communities. Sened has become a specialized NGO in the field of working with persons with disabilities and their families since 2015. It takes the aspirations of the founders, persons with disabilities and their families, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as a compass for its work.

 

Job Purpose:

 To coordinate and supervise the implementation of all the MHPSS activities in Turkey and ensure their execution within time, budget and quality.

 

Key Activities/Tasks/Duties:

• Identifying mental health and psychosocial support needs and gaps.

• Supervising, following up and providing technical support to a team of psychologists and psychosocial support facilitators.

• Developing capacity building for mental health and psychosocial support for psychologists, psychosocial support workers and facilitators of psychosocial support activities (Psychologists - PSSWs - PSS facilitators)

• Conducting regular technical evaluation of the MHPSS program through direct monitoring of MHPSS interventions and PSS facilitators and discussing cases in which specialists need support.

• Follow up the documentation and collection of mental health and psychosocial support data and technically supervise them, collect the data provided by the different teams and document them in the mental health and psychosocial support database, and submit weekly and monthly reports about them.

• Train key community members, and (partners) on basic MHPSS interventions and guidance such as psychological first aid (including necessary contextual adjustments), and aspects of the IASC MHPSS Guidelines

• Participate in developing a map of referral pathways in coordination with case managers.

• Attend meetings with technical working groups in coordination with the line manager.

 

Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):

Essential:

-       BA in Social Studies or Psychology

-       Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in MHPSS-related sectors, with focus on humanitarian Protection.

-       Strong theoretical, technical and practical background in MHPSS

-       Experience in complex emergency setting involving internal displacements.

-       Excellent reporting skills.

-       Strong experience of minimum 2 years in Community-based PSS including experience in designing and implementation Individual-and Group-PSS sessions for conflict affected populations.

-       Excellent level in English 

 

Desirable:

-       Master’s degree in Social Studies, Psychology

-       Five years of relevant working experience in MHPSS-related sectors, with focus on humanitarian Protection.

-       Strong theoretical, technical and practical background in MHPSS
