CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.

As part of these responsibilities the post holder will support the establishment of child safeguarding systems, promote a culture of keeping children safe, and ensure that potential harm to children (by our own staff and/or as a result of how we do our work) is identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. The post holder should report and respond to interventions as determined by position related responsibilities identified in the Child Safeguarding Policy.

 

ROLE PURPOSE:

IT Officer is responsible for a proper functioning and use of the information and communication technology (ICT) systems (server, computers, Photo Copiers, Scanners, Surveillance System, Access Door, PDA, barcode readers and their respective exploitation systems and generic software) by setting up these systems, as well as preventing and rapidly responding to potential ICT problems, in an adequate, timely and supportive manner.  She/he also has to provide quality support to SCI field teams that are using these ICT systems.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Finance and IT Manager

Staff directly reporting to this post: None

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. ICT Systems Management

  • Set up and Deployment
    • Set up and deploy new ICT devices and any related network including server, laptop, PDAs, bar code readers, printers, etc.
    • Conduct a monthly inventory of all ICT equipment used for field activities and submit it to the immediate supervisor as part of the monthly report.
  • Maintenance
    • Schedule regular maintenance of the ICT systems including cleaning of hardware as necessary, upgrade/update of the operating system, memory capacity, generic software and antivirus.
    • Perform the basic administration and maintenance (Software and Hardware) of the server ensuring the data security.
    • Troubleshoot problems faced by users with the ICT systems and network.
    • Hardware / Software maintenance for Photo Copiers, Scanners, Surveillance System, Access Door, Computers, Servers, Tablets and Internet Connectivity.

2. Capacity Building

  • Develop user manuals for specific ICT equipments and systems.
  • Train SCI users on how to properly use the ICT equipments and systems.
  • Assess the users’ training needs and prepare necessary training session accordingly.
  • Train IT assistant and/or assigned personnel on server management and ICT hardware maintenance.
  • 3. Other Tasks

  • Work closely and collaborate with partners regarding shared and/or common ICT equipments and systems.
  • Liaise with Regional IT personnel for necessary support and joint actions about the management of ICT equipments and systems.
  • Attend relevant internal meetings.
  • Plan the monthly activities and report the fulfilled activities on monthly basis to immediate supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to the given position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Turkish nationality is a requirement for this position. 
  • Education: Bachelor degree in computers and /or electronics.  
  • Work Experience: Professional background in IT management
  • Demonstrated abilities/competencies
  • Strong Infrastructure, server administration and maintenance skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in networking
  • Solid numerical and computer skills are required (especially MS Office Package)
  • Analytical and organizational skills, capacity building skills, communication skills
  • Working level of English communication is required.

Desired

  • Knowledge of PDA and Barcode Technology is an asset.
  • MCP/MCITP certification is an asset.
