About Bahar

Bahar Organization is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian aid to vulnerable people without any discrimination in all its forms. BO is operating to respond to the needs and basic requirements of the humanitarian crisis in Syria in the middle of the affected communities caused by the conflict. The basic principles of BO’s activities are to enhance the basic living standards of the affected population by delivering humanitarian aid based on the needs.

Purpose of position

The overall responsibility of the IT assistant will be providing IT systems (server, computers, Photo Copiers, Scanners, Surveillance Systems, Access Doors, PDAs, and barcode readers) support to all employees to ensure the efficient operation of the office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives and responds to IT daily requests.
  • Documents incidents, interactions, and solutions within the ticketing system.
  • Installs and maintains the user's hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Maps printers and network drives.
  • Provides support on procurement of hardware and software by providing IT’s specifications
  • Updates employee data and produces activity reports.
  • Provides staff with basic training on using any new software or technology device adopted by BAHAR.
  • Monitors and administers the computer systems, database, network, and interfaces.
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
  • Understands and applies information security policies.
  • Familiar with remote systems software and provide remote support, if needed.
  • Maintains records of hardware and software inventory.
  • Renewing and tracking all software licenses and ensuring all software is licensed.
  • Keeps supporting CCTV and Alarm systems technically.
  • Performs other duties and any relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Academic Qualification/s and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a combination of experience and education working in this sector is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a related area (in helpdesk and software development).
  • Past work with NGOs and/or international donor-funded programs is preferred.
  • Experience in web programming.
  • Experience working with network and server management support.

Required Skills and Capabilities:

  • Good Communication skills in English and Arabic are required.
  • Good Communication skills in Turkish are preferred.
  • Experience in web programming is preferred**.**
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new systems, information, software, hardware, and upgrades.
  • Practical experience in networked environments and support for remote users and fields.

 

Turkish citizenship/dual citizenship is preferred.
