General Functions:

  

Under the administrative supervision of the Information Management Officer in Gaziantep, technical supervision of the Information Technology officer based in Ankara and direct supervision of the National ITC Officer in Gaziantep, the incumbent will be responsible in providing technical support and services to users of IOM’s cooperate applications and infrastructure, promoting a client and service-oriented approach in Gaziantep Sub-Office and warehouses including field offices in Hatay and Sanliurfa.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Perform day-to-day operation support to all computer networks including hardware/software and device such as routers, switches, firewall, access points etc. and provide end user troubleshooting support in Gaziantep and Warehouses.
  2. Assist the Senior ICT Assistant in managing the fileserver and backup server with related permissions and privileges.
  3. Initiate request for IT supplies (printer cartridges, laptops, copy machine, projectors etc.) and maintain record of softwares archives, manuals and maps of network infrastructure in IOM Gaziantep sites.
  4. Assist the Senior ITC assistant in performing regular monthly backup.
  5. Ensure that all Hardware IT equipment has latest software update, patches and anti-virus. Monitor virus and other malicious software activities in the PCs.
  6. Setup audio and video conference equipment for staff member’s meetings between Ankara, İstanbul and Gaziantep.
  7. Undertake duty travel to warehouse as required.
  8. Tracking of ITC asset assignment and hand over forms.
  9. Development of any software and hardware system according to needs of organization.
  10. Assist in performing the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support and active devices (routers, switches, firewall, access points etc.) in Sanliurfa Migration Center
  11. Make sure all Servers, Desktops, laptops and other IT equipment have latest relevant software, software patches, anti-viruses with latest virus signatures under ITC guidelines and ITC advisory for Software and data protection.
  12. Supporting the staff located in Gaziantep university for the technical issues for FabLab – Resilience innovation center project.
  13. Designing the website of the FabLab Center and improvement of the website.
  14. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Education:

 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic/ Telecommunication, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with two years of relevant professional experience; or
  • Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experience.

 

Experience:

 

  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN, direct user support and computer and communication equipment troubleshooting;
  • Experience in Windows Server software in a multi-site environment, TCP/IP, MS Office, Antivirus Software, Backup Server Softwares, Active Directory services, Email Exchange, Remote Connections Softwares and IT utilities;
  • Knowledge of IP, VPN, VOIP and LAN/WAN infrastructure;
  • Knowledge in Microsoft SQL databases administration will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of .NET framework (ASP, VB), SQL, PHP and CMS will be an advantage.
  • Microsoft and Cisco network certificates is an advantage;

 

Languages:

 

  • Fluency in English and Turkish is required.  
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
