Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Human Resources Officer.

About the Job

Lead and provide Human Resources support in seizing, onboarding and development of DRC’s personnel. This includes recruitment, onboarding process, managing employee contracts, and development activities. This will be done according to DRC’s policies and procedures.

This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Human Resources tasks

  • Advise and assist management and employees in Human Resources related issues and concerns
  • Review Human Resources processes and suggests improvements

Recruitment

  • Implements recruitment policies, procedures and tools and ensure an equitable, fair, transparent, efficient and accountable throughout all DRC offices in the country;
  • Provide expertise to all people involved in recruitment process on how to lead it properly with the aim of recruiting professionals and people with potentials to be developed;
  • Update and share the recruitment tracker in weekly basis with management
  • Suggest amendments/changes whenever needed in the Recruitment Guidelines to HR Manager

Staff Induction/onboarding

  • Help in developing the induction policy and adapt it to ensure its proper implementation for all newly recruited/arrived staff;
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that pre-established briefings for newly recruited/arrived staff are properly done in due time;
  • Ensure that all newly recruited/arrived staff receive a briefing agenda upon recruitment/arrival and that they are properly briefed and receive all the due information according to the established procedures & standard briefing content;
  • Assist in inducting training on Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, etc. as needed;
  • Follow up the quality and impact of whole briefing and induction processes, collects data and suggest improvements to HR manager if advisable;
  • Ensures the record of each new employee is registered in DRC Dynamics system
  • Updates the staff information in DRC Dynamics system in timely manner.

Staff Well-being, Training and Development

  • Contributes to create and implement a training policy to respond to the needs identified among the staff;
  • Contributes to the identification of training options at local level;
  • Support to all managers on how to implement Performance evaluation system (tool, method, setting up objectives, follow up of action plan and best practices);
  • Ensures all performance appraisals are submitted on timely basis and tracked& kept in personnel files
  • Focal point for HR Newsletter: initiate, prepare and circulate to all staff. Suggest improvements and changes to HR Manager.

Personal files

  • Ensure an efficient filing system (physical and electronic files) of all administrative files, granting strict confidentiality of employees’ personal files and other administrative private documents;
  • Ensure that all national staff have an up-to-date relevant job description and personal documents.

Other

  • Any other task assigned by the line manager/supervisor

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have a university degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or Social Science Degree specializing in Human Resources or equivalent professional qualification.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience in Human Resources management, administration, change management, and/or organizational development
  • (I)NGO experience is preferred
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using an online system for recruitments
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Fluency in local language: Turkish

We offer

Contract length: 6 Months (with possible extension)

Employment Band: H

Designation of Duty Station: Adana

Start date: 01.07.2023

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
