                                                                 HR ASSISTANT (NATIONAL POSITION)

Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest, and conflict affected countries. Concern has been working in Turkey since August 2013 and currently looking for a HR Assistant (National Post).

 

Job Overview

Job Title                                         HR Assistant

Job Purpose: The position will be based in Sanliurfa. The HR Assistant is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include but are not limited to day to day operations of HR, facilitate all aspects of the general personnel administrative work, translations, recruitment, staff development / training. Supporting organization staff in a range of programme and administrative duties will also constitute an integral part of the role.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement Concern Worldwide HR systems and procedures for the mission;
  • Prepare, organize, compile, update staff files and personnel records in hard and soft copy;
  • Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning all HR related documents.
  • Ensure that HRIS Software database is updated regularly;
  • Support recruitment processes including but not limited to preparing vacancy announcements, screening applications, administering written exams, participating in interviews and preparing recruitment reports;
  • Facilitate the induction/orientation process for all new employees; completion of all paperwork and ensure roll-out onboarding process;
  • Prepare and follow-up staff timesheets for each month and ensure timely submission;
  • Draft or prepare correspondence to respond to inquiries in respect to relevant administrative activities;  
  • Ensure that all HR related trackers are updated;
  • Support the exit processes;
  • Support learning and development activities by iidentifying and assessing future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths and Performance Development Reviews;
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars;
  • Translation of a range of reports and other requests as appropriate from Turkish to English and vice versa;
  • Conduct any other duties assigned by the line manager in order to smoothen the flow of work; such duties will be within the employee’s reasonable capacity.

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in HR management or a related field;
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a human resources role, preferably in the INGO sector;
  • Fluency in both Turkish and English; impeccable communication skills;
  • Experience in database management and record keeping;
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications like Word, Excel and Power point.

 

We would also like

  • Knowledge of accepted HR practices and procedures.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Turkish Labor Law.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to translate and proofread/edit general and technically-oriented conversations and/or documents/presentations as appropriate. Understanding of the source texts and ability to render them faithfully and accurately into English or Turkish, conveying the original context & meaning, taking into account the register, grammar, syntax, idiom and literacy techniques.
  • Ability to work in a systematic and organized manner.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to build good relations both internally and externally.
  • Tactful and diplomatic.
  • Arabic language skills.
