Job Purpose

The GBV and SRH Program Officer is responsible for all aspects of technical and administrative project implementation as well as the documentation for all the steps to implement the project related to the technical and administrative sides of the project.

The scope of the work includes close coordination with the project team that’s mean working with team supervisors, technical trainers, consultant, administrative staff and other NGO/ING; also include the follow-up of the curriculums’ implementation and evaluate the processes and the approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the successful completion of assigned GBV and SRH projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure the effective and accountable management of GBV and SRH projects.
  • Set Project plans (detailed implementation plan, procurement plan, human resource plan, spending plan…etc).
  • Ensuring effective implementation of GBV and SRH projects that meet contractual obligations including all partner/ donor policy, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensuring activities are in line with community and beneficiary needs.
  • Ensuring project activities are implemented to a high quality based upon related standards (e.g. Sphere, GBV Minimum Standards, GBV SOPs, IASK…etc)
  • Managing Budgets and understand Financial Reports.
  • Prepare and follow up with Projects Financial requests.
  • Managing project team effectively.
  • Ensuring proper project documentation and compilation of project data.
  • Maintaining proper communication with the partner, donor, and local authorities.
  • Conduct field visits to Syria regularly.
  • Ensure risks are appropriately managed, including financial, safety and security, programmatic and reputational.
  • Ensure all internal and external narrative and financial reports (weekly, monthly, interim and final) are submitted within agreed timeframes to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate closely with the program senior officer on the project implementation progress.
  • Work closely with other departments on all issues related to assigned projects.
  • Achieving program goals and activities which may include supportive supervision, training, and capacity building of staff.
  • Monitoring fieldwork and support GBV and SRH workers to implement work timely, and ensure reaching to all beneficiaries to GBV and SRH program, and ensuring strict adherence to the GBV and SRH guiding principles.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all services available to GBV survivors and vulnerable women and girls to initiate, oversee and ensure proper use of the referral pathway in the provision of case management services, and ensure tools are in place and actively follow up on referred cases to ensure a timely response.
  • Lead case review meetings with caseworkers and case conferencing meetings on an as-needed basis to troubleshoot more complex cases and ensure the best support for the survivor.
  • Ensure training and ongoing capacity building opportunities for staff regarding technical skills and Provide learning sessions to the technical team
  • Ensure that all GBV and SRH workers have specific and communicated tasks and roles in the center.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
  • Ensure the adoption of the minimum standard required in and out centers where the activities are implemented.
  • Provide regular supervision sessions to the staff involved in GBV prevention and response activities or SRH activities.
  • Respect and apply all the PSEA principles, and show high commitment to report any SEA action.
  • Support the GBV protection projects by ensuring the implementation of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programming including appropriate elements of MISP, family planning, and post-abortion care.
  • Work to ensure the beneficiaries have access to high-quality SRH and GBV services and information at the supported health facilities and communities.
  • Adhere to PSEA and CSG policies within IhsanRD.

 

Note: The key responsibilities/accountabilities mentioned above are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department requirements.

 

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
  1. Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in social science, Literature, Psychological science, socioeconomic, Business Administration, International Development, Community Development, or related discipline.
    • 2 years of professional experience in developing and implementing GBV and SRH programming, preferably in the Syria crisis.
    • Very good level in both English and Arabic

 

  1. Desirable:
    • Pharmacy, Medical, Medical institute, Nursing,
    • Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in Psychological science or medical science, socio-economic, Business administration, International Development, Community Development, or related discipline
    • Three years of professional experience in the development and implementation of GBV protection and SRH programming, preferably in the Syria crisis.
    • Advanced level of both English and Arabic.
