DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1              Monitoring performance of project offıcers and ensuring high quality programming in keeping with contractual commitments and human appeal standards.

2              Building capacity of the team (Turkey - Syria) in overall design and quality of human appeal projects.

3              Encouragement, training and developing staff in effective management of the project cycle at all stages.

4              Coordinating activities to ensure effective use of time and HA resources.

5              Supervising the implementation of contracts and project activities to meet timelines and budget limits.

6              To lead and participate in proposal writing.

7              Capacity to conceptualise programme interventions and to problem solve with the coordination of the programmes manager.

8              Coordinate overall sector projects portfolio to ensure key performance indicators are met and projects impact is in line with strategy.

9              To aid the project's manager in securing project funding from institutional funders.

10           To attend cluster coordination meetings upon request of Line Manager, and providing regular reports to the Line Manager about these meetings.

11           Providing guidance and technical information on donor rules and regulations to projects officer 

12           Conducting regular field visits and coordinating with donors/suppliers to ensure effective implementation of activities.

13           Support the finance department by coordinating project budget’s as assigned by line manager and coordination with other departments within the organisation, where needed.

14           Any other duties assigned by the CD.

PERSON SPECIFICATION (Education, Experience, Skills. Abilities)

Minimum Requirements:

1              Relevant University degree.

2              Minimum of 3 years’ successful project management experience in the humanitarian field.

3              Excellent knowledge in programmes life cycles, proposal writing and concept notes in excellent English.

4              Computer literate and competent with Microsoft office and other data management systems, as required.

5              Excellent verbal & oral communication skills

•             Good verbal and written in English,

•             Able to communicate complex issues in a concise, accessible and engaging way.

6              Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, manage time and prioritise work to deadlines.        

7              Management skills, including strong teambuilding skills and problem-solving.

8              The necessarily to learn on the job and willingness to improve and adapt.

9              Demonstrable understanding of issues related to direct aid and international development in the humanitarian context.

10           Creative and adaptable working prepared to travel to meetings, conferences, and training within Turkey.

11           Comfortable in planning and delivering multiple activities under pressure to strict.

12           Deadlines and high levels of precision.

•             Thorough attention to detail.

•             Excellent organisational and planning skills.

13           Punctuality and respect for rules and procedures.

14           Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently, with minimal supervision and well under pressure.

•             Able to work as part of a team in a co-operative and supportive way, particularly with staff for whom English is not their first language

15           Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding work-related information and data.

DUTY STATION:

 

The position will be based in Turkey, 70% in the office and 30% in the field.
