JOB ADVERTISEMENT – Finance Intern

SCI employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. 

ROLE PURPOSE:

To provide varied and complex assistance to the Country Office Finance Department.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Finance Officer.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Intern will be assigned to Finance departments to support Finance Team.

Interns will be responsible for the tasks assigned by the reporting lines based on Finance department responsibilities mainly for filing, documentation, archiving, and they will be also assigned for operational tasks like below;

  • Reviewing all cash payments and tracking all program advances issued and returned
  • Support other Finance team in review all bank payments requests.
  • Assists in financial audits when required.
  • Support Finance team in filing & archiving both online and physically.
  • Complete any other tasks as required by other Finance team.


Other:

Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child safeguarding, code of conduct, safety and security and other relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Economics, Business or related departments;
  • Preferably previous working experience (including paid internships) in NGOs, private sector.
  • Good attention to details and to be able to work under stress;
  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office) and ability to do internet based research
  • Strong organisational skills and discretion with confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Turkish
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Proven ability to handle challenging work load
  • Good interpersonal skills


Desirable

Good verbal and written communication skills English

Position holder will be based in Gaziantep, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application.
