SCI employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The purpose of this role is to Support the Finance team in managing the finance and record and prepare all type of financial transactions according to SCI and donor rules and regulations and support the Liaison Function of the organization with related stakeholders and authorities. 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Finance and IT Manager

Reportee: None

Budget responsibility: None

 

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Liaison responsibilities:

  • Properly draft, file and store the liaison documents,
  • Follow up incoming and outgoing documents (scanning and uploading to Share Point),
  • Keep record of incoming and outgoing documents,
  • Make or establish contact with third parties required by the Line Manager,
  • Collect information to be required for government or external relations,
  • Draft official documents, get approvals from relevant departments and refer them to authorities,
  • Keep and upload the meeting minutes to Share Point,
  • Take records of inter-departmental meetings and store them in line with data protection necessities,
  • Translate documents required by the Line Manager,
  • Facilitate permissions for visitors, travel and access to programme areas (i.e. external visitors) if required
  • Facilitate high quality communication with related authorities
  • Support the SCI staff in case of encountering any legal issues with the authorities.

Finance responsibilities:

  • Review financial documents that received from SCI partners through; matching the amount on the supporting document with the amount on the transaction list; ensure that the expenditure has been incurred within the project period and identify missing supporting documents, if any.
  • Organize and archive the hard/soft copy of SCI partners documents in a way that allows for tracking from Transaction List to the source payment vouchers or documents.
  • Support other Finance team in review payments request for the SCI partners.
  • Support finance team at finding related documents for internal and external audits.
  • Reviewing NWS payments and tracking the programme advances issued and returned.
  • Make sure all supporting documentation and approvals are obtained before finalizing payments; verify invoices and fulfil that the equipment, supplies or services they refer to were duly received or provided before proceeding with payment request.
  • Review and verify financial transactions (i.e. expense claims, travel claims, and payment requests) of SCI office expenses.
  • Submit NWS payments through platform and make sure all NWS payments are updated on the tracker.
  • Maintain and updating proper filing of soft/hard copy of financial supporting documents.
  • Support TCO in checking stamp taxes and social security calculations made by accounting firm
  • Complete any other tasks as required by other Finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • •    Finance qualification is needed, individuals with practical experience will be considered
    •    Experience of working with partners on financial monitoring and reporting is desirable
    •    A desire to learn and work in a challenging but rewarding environment
    •    Ability to work under pressure alone and as part of a team
    •    English and Turkish speaker required
    •    A strong sense of integrity
    •    Attention to detail
    •    Good working knowledge of Excel
