Position:        Data Analysis and Reporting  Consultant

Location:        Türkiye

Reports to:     Technical and MEL Director

Duration:        Consultant is expected to work up to 10 days anytime between 5th December to 25th December 2022

RI invests in four broad program sectors: Economic Opportunity, Education, Health, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. We design our programs to incorporate The RI Way: local participation, integrated programming, the development of civic skills, and complementary partnerships including with local NGOs, governments, and the private sector. RI supports solutions that reinforce and improve upon existing in-country systems. Where such systems do not exist or are chronically underperforming, RI’s crisis response lays the foundation for long-term, sustainable change.

Relief International (RI) has been working in Turkey since 2013. Currently, RI implements activities in 5 provinces across Turkey, providing specialized health service delivery for refugees, focusing on mental health and psychosocial support services (MHPSS), physiotherapy, prosthesis & orthotics, community health and livelihoods support.

Purpose and Scope:

RI will conduct a study to compare the protection risks between people with disabilities and people without disabilities among the refugee population in Türkiye and explore how these protection risks change with other variables such as gender, age, and nationality.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Technical and MEL Director, the Consultant will be responsible for data analysis and reporting of the data collected by RI’s enumerators in six locations: Istanbul, Adana, Mersin, Gaziantep, Kilis, and Hatay.

The methodology for data collection consists of conducting surveys (quantitative) and in-depth (qualitative) interviews. First, the enumerators will conduct the quantitative interviews with sample consists of person with disabilities and persons without disabilities have the same variables in term of age groups, gender, nationality, and location.

Second, the enumerators will conduct in-depth interviews with respondents (only persons with disabilities) who will be selected after conducting the quantitative interviews.

Data collection will be conducted using the mobile data collection platform KOBO Collect.  

Key tasks

  • View all relevant documents provided by RI, including needs assessment documents and tools to establish a full understanding of the needs assessment process.
  • Receive the raw dataset of the needs assessment (quantitative and qualitative data) and conduct data cleaning.
  • Submit an inception report, agreeing with RI MEAL Team about the analysis methods to be used.
  • Do the data analysis using appropriate methods and share the analysis dataset with RI.
  • Develop a draft assessment report and share with RI.
  • Address the feedback received by RI.
  • Issue the final version of the report.

Key Deliverables:

  • Provide an inception report detailing the analysis plan
  • Provide a clean dataset Provide an analyzed dataset with tables and charts.
  • Provide a draft report for review
  • Provide a final report upon review from RI
  • Provide a presentation with the major findings of the assessment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Relevant university qualifications, preferably in a field related to development studies, health, refugees’ studies, and livelihoods. Master’s degree (or equivalent) preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience with strong and demonstrable quantitative and qualitative research techniques and skills, data collection and analysis, and especially in similar assessments and surveys.
  • Demonstrated understanding of refugee, disability and gender issues, particularly in the Turkish context.
  • Familiarity working with Humanitarian Organizations.
  • Political, cultural and gender awareness.
  • Fluency in English language, both written and verbal.
  • Consultant can issue financial invoices

Compensation:

The consultant should submit his financial proposal for the daily rate, including taxes.  The payment will be made at the end of the assignment.  The consultant is expected to work up to a maximum of 10 days during the period between 15th November to 15th December 2022.
