Job Summary:

The Communications Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring effective communication, content creation, and brand consistency for Building Markets Türkiye. This role involves managing our social media platforms, actively engaging with our audience, collaborating closely with our graphic designer, and crafting resonant content for our target audience. The Communications Assistant will also ensure that all content aligns with the organization's messaging and branding guidelines, and will be involved in identifying, interviewing, and crafting compelling stories or case studies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Content Creation, Social Media Management, and Brand Alignment

  • Create and publish engaging content in both Arabic and Turkish for social media platforms, ensuring alignment with Building Markets' messaging and branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain a content calendar, ensuring consistent posting and alignment with organizational goals and events.
  • Identify internal needs for communication materials and collaborate with the graphic designer to create visually appealing content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Ensure that all translated content maintains linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance, resonating effectively in other languages.
  • Actively participate in identifying, interviewing, and crafting compelling stories or case studies showcasing the impact and success stories of local SMEs and entrepreneurs.
  • Monitor and actively manage social media channels, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries, and proactively engaging with the online audience.
  • Implement best practices in branding, design, and communications to maintain consistent brand messaging.
  • Managing BM Türkiye Social Media accounts with directions from the Program Services Senior Coordinator and Program Services Coordinator
  • Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to ensure that all content aligns with messaging and branding guidelines.
  • Provide design support for materials when needed to ensure visual appeal and alignment with branding standards.
  • Review and provide input on content prepared for digital or printed use to maintain consistency and alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Assist the Communications Coordinator in creating designs for social media accounts, ensuring alignment with messaging and branding.
  • Develop special designs for specified days like holidays to enhance engagement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Create live content at events and trainings organized as per the association's requests, and oversee the organization and coordination of photography.
  • Ensure the storage and organization of multimedia assets, including images and graphics.
  • Continuously monitor online mentions and discussions related to the association's brand, promptly addressing any issues or feedback in a professional manner.
  • Maintain an orderly folder and storage system for all captured images.
  • Ensure consistent application of the Building Markets corporate identity to all communication materials.
  • Assist in promoting events, training, and research products through various communication channels, including email marketing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, marketing or equivalent degrees,
  • Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies,
  • Above average knowledge of various social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills,
  • Using MS Office programs effectively,
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills,
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Turkish, Arabic, and English.
  • Turkish nationality

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a non-profit sector,
  • Proficiency in design software such as Canva or Photoshop,
  • Proven skills in marketing communications, web content management, social media marketing, and public relations.

Reporting Lines: Reports to Program Services Senior Coordinator / Program Services Coordinator

Location: Istanbul Offices, Türkiye_Travel to field offices in Gaziantep and other cities as required

Duration: Fixed Term contract, until 14 September 2024

Travel: No obstacle to travel within Türkiye
