Medecins du Monde Turkey (MDM-T) Dünya Doktorları Derneği (DDD) is a Turkish based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty and exclusion.
Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of displaced population.
DDD is the 16th member of the Doctors of the World International Network that is committed to meeting the health needs of vulnerable people globally.

Since 2015, DDD implements programs in both Turkey and Syria providing refugee and IDP communities with free access to healthcare services. DDD works with a range of humanitarian professionals and technical experts to provide Primary Healthcare (PHC), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)services as well as sexual and reproductive health (SRH).
Since the beginning of the Syria and Iraqi crises, Turkey has become host to over 3 million refugees, migrants and asylum seekers which led to an increasing demand for health services. In this context, DDD’s intervention aims to assist local public health systems in providing and improving access to health and health related services to vulnerable populations among refugees and migrants in Turkey, specifically in Hatay, Izmir and Istanbul. In Syria, DDD runs health facilities in Idlib and Afrin provinces to deliver health-related services to IDPs.
Hierarchical & Functional links
Based in Harem District in Idlib Governorate, the case worker reports to the CFS Supervisor.
Status: Fix term
Expected Starting Date: August 2022
Identification and management of at-risk cases including referrals and Emergency Case Fund (ECF).
5.1 Identification and management of at-risk cases including referrals and Emergency Case Fund (ECF).
Implement the case management activities found appropriate and requested by the CFS Supervisor.
Suggest case management activities to the CFS supervisor based on your observation.
Identify the children and caregivers in need of further assistance and work with the Referral Assistant for further guidance.
Operate in close alignment with referral pathways agreed upon at the interagency level.
Ensure that individuals in need of protection services and/or assistance are timely and adequately referred to the relevant services. Conduct regular and systematized follow-ups of all referred cases to ensure adequate service provision, reassess needs and potentially identify any new trends.
Treat children with respect and put their well-being first. Create an environment where children feel safe to express their feelings and needs.
Ensure proper documentation of case data and information in line with the case management guiding principles, adhering to the confidentiality principle. Ensure to abide by all information-sharing protocols in place.
Manages cases based on the 6-step case management plan.
Implement the Protection Case Management SOP of DDD and contributes to its updates.
Effectively use and comply with all the tools, forms, and SOPs related to case management as communicated by the CFS Supervisor. Comply with applicable professional standards related to protection and humanitarian interventions.
Support the CFS supervisor on his/her reporting tasks by providing your observations, ideas, challenges, and mitigation methods.
Prepare regular or ad-hoc reports to CFS Supervisor when requested.
Perform any additional duties or the instructions given by the CFS Supervisor related to the DDDs projects in Syria.
Maintain full confidentiality for all work-related information.
Assist in the coordination and delivery of Child Protection awareness-raising sessions when needed.
Create a respectful office environment free of harassment, and retaliation, and promotes the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH).

Promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Dünya Doktorları Derneği. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of Dünya Doktorları Derneği and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicates these values to staff and to partners and requires them to adhere to these values.
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within Dünya Doktorları Derneği and amongst beneficiaries served by Dünya Doktorları Derneği.
NB: considering the purpose and values of the organisation, DDD requests to its employee complete flexibility in term of duties and commitment, as their job description and job title can be adjusted throughout the year according to needs and priorities.
Knowledge & Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant study (social sciences, development, humanities, etc.)
Minimum 2 years of similar previous proven experience in a relevant position. Child protection experience is an advantage.
Knowledge of sensitive data protection guidelines and understanding of confidentiality.
Excellent communication with children and their caregivers.
Excellent knowledge of case management skills. Experience with Special Needs Funds (SNF) and/or Emergency Case Funds (ECF) is an advantage
Fluency in Arabic is a must, English is an advantage
